When the human touch is what I need

I haven’t seen a friend since 12/13. I haven’t hugged someone since then, I haven’t even shaken a person’s hand. Yes, I’ve had phone calls with loved ones, seen faces of colleagues on virtual meetings, and have said hello to strangers. And yes, I have the Cats who are a blessing. It’s strange to be isolated. Other than the 12/13 interaction (which was a hug) with a dear friend the only nice conversation (other than work calls, which are nice enough, but not genuine) was with the checker at Sprouts Market last Thursday. This Thursday, I’m going to a gay Happy Hour. It’ll be full of strangers, but I hope I can have a nice conversation and simply get a smile, a handshake, and a meet new people. No more than that.

Here are some songs about connection, lack of it, loneliness, isolation, etc…
